The Saxon Mill is a lovely building in superb setting but unfortunately the service goes no way to meeting the vista it initially provides. The Saxon Mill in is a 3-minute drive from Warwick Rail Station. The tackle needs to be up to the job because they are very strong fish and fight very hard in the deep powerful water but a barbel outfit coupled with at least 8 pound line will cope with them. I and my partner had chicken but because it had been sitting waiting, probably on hot plate for the fish goujons to cook, it was dry. Thus no liability, consequential or otherwise, arising from them is accepted. The pub is very popular indeed and they need all the parking space they have for business purposes. Part of the River Avon flows beneath the building. Firstly, we were put in an area where the light hung right by my head. The millpool is not fishable on the club book either and the small island to the left below the stone wall just over the weir footbridge is strictly out of bounds and has signposts expressing that fact along the bank of the island. We don't normally complain and under the circumstances it would have been a bit embarrassing if we had in front of our friends so this review is our complaint albeit 48 hours overdue. However, the food actually took 90 minutes to arrive and when it did it was very poorly presented no better than a canteen. Access to the fishery is from the Saxon Mill pub and over the footbridge.
